Shannon

As a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern, I provide trauma-informed, holistic support to women navigating the crossroads of emotional healing, identity, leadership, and personal transformation. I’m currently completing my Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and bring with me a rich background of over 20 years in entrepreneurship, leadership development, and women’s empowerment. But more than my credentials, what brings me here is my own story. I’m a survivor of childhood trauma, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. I know what it’s like to function on the outside while feeling disconnected, unseen, or uncertain on the inside.

These lived experiences inform not only my clinical work but the heart-centered way I hold space for each client. I specialize in working with: Women in business, leadership, and caregiving roles who are battling burnout, overthinking, or self-doubt Adult survivors of childhood trauma, neglect, or emotionally unsafe environments High-functioning women struggling with imposter syndrome, perfectionism, or chronic self-sabotage Clients seeking to reclaim their identity, voice, and purpose through a holistic, spiritual lens My approach combines person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and mind-body-spirit healing tools. I work to create a safe, culturally responsive, and compassionate environment where you can release what no longer serves you and reclaim what was always yours: your peace, your power, and your truth. A Few Fun Facts About Me I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and an MBA in Organizational Development. I’m the founder of The Healing Circle, a support group for women and girls impacted by trauma and abuse; True To Me Girls, a mentoring program that empowers young women through self-awareness, career readiness, and entrepreneurship; and co-founder of Women of Purpose and Destiny, a ministry devoted to emotional and spiritual healing. I’m also a published author of Healing the Father Wound: Reclaiming Your Power, Presence, and Purpose in Leadership, and an active member of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority Inc.

Outside of the counseling room, I’m a proud mother of six, a poet, a pianist, and a lover of all genres of music. Creativity, connection, and inner truth are the threads that weave through every part of my work and life. A Heart-to-Heart Message for Me to You If you’re carrying silent wounds… If you’ve built success but still feel stuck or unseen… If you’ve been strong for everyone else and now need someone to hold space for you— You belong here. Your healing matters. And I would be honored to walk alongside you as you reclaim the parts of yourself that trauma tried to silence. Let’s begin your journey back to wholeness—together.
