Hello! My name is Ala Abdeldaim, and I’m an LPC-Associate and graduate student at Houston Christian University. I’m currently completing my clinical training under the supervision of Ms. Shalonvia Gundy as I work toward full licensure as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Jordan, which gives me a rich cultural perspective and a strong academic foundation for my work in counseling.
I’m passionate about helping individuals and families find healing, growth, and balance in their lives. My therapeutic approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychoanalytic theory, allowing me to tailor sessions to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. I have a special interest in play therapy with children, as well as working with adults and families facing life’s challenges.
In addition to individual therapy, I have experience leading group sessions for DWI/DUI and substance use, and I’m certified in Suicide First Aid.
My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space where clients can explore their experiences, develop insight, and move toward meaningful change.
